A message from Currents founder Will Pearson
It’s no secret that it’s harder than ever to run a journalism outlet these days. Sometimes, when our cash flows get tight, I wonder if it’s worth the effort.
But then I get out into the community to report a story, and I see how grateful people are when journalists take the time to listen and tell their stories with care. Or, a reader sends a note to say how much they appreciate our work, because they can’t find stories like ours anywhere else.
Encounters such as these remind me of how important Peterborough Currents is to the community, and how important it is we gain more donors. Because right now, we’re held back by a lack of resources.

Is your website secure?
All payments are processed through Stripe. Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1, which is the highest grade of payment processing security. All credit card information is encrypted, sent directly to Stripe and is never sent to our website server. This means that we are PCI compliant and any breach of our website won’t result in stolen credit card information. Learn more here.
Will my contribution be considered a charitable donation for tax purposes?
No. While we are actively pursuing a designation to enable us to issue charitable receipts, this is a lengthy process and we are not sure when the federal government might certify us. We’ll keep you updated!
